Privacy Policy
How I collect, use, store and let you access your personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. Who I am
This website, borisdesmond.com, is operated by Boris Desmond, a sole trader based in Victoria, Australia (ABN 67 715 582 190, "I", "me"). I provide sales strategy, fractional sales leadership, AI implementation and one-to-one advisory services to businesses.
2. The personal information I collect
- Contact details (name, email, company, role) when you fill in the contact form, book a call or email me
- The content of your message and any business information you choose to share
- Business and billing information when you engage me as a client
- Basic website usage information (IP address, browser, pages visited) through standard server logs and privacy-friendly analytics
I do not knowingly collect sensitive information (as defined in the Privacy Act) and ask that you don't include it in messages.
3. How I use it
- To reply to your enquiry, scope a potential engagement or send a proposal
- To deliver services under an agreed engagement, and to invoice for them
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
- To keep this website secure and free of spam
I don't add you to a mailing list or send marketing unless you ask me to, and I never sell your information.
4. AI tools
I use AI tools in my work. Where client information is involved, I use business-grade services that do not train their models on customer data, I share only what is needed for the task, and a human (me) reviews anything that affects you before it is used or sent.
5. Who I share it with
I share personal information only with the service providers I need to run my business, for example:
- Cloudflare, for website hosting, security and spam protection (Turnstile)
- An email delivery provider, to forward contact form messages to my inbox
- Stripe, to process payments (Stripe handles card details directly; I never see or store them)
- Accounting and email software, to invoice and correspond with clients
- Government bodies or regulators, where required by law
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia (typically in the United States or the European Union). I choose providers with appropriate safeguards in place.
6. Security and retention
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including encrypted connections, access controls and reputable providers. I keep enquiry details only as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client records as long as the law requires.
7. Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies to protect the site from bots and abuse.
8. Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email hello [at] borisdesmond.com or use the contact form.
9. Complaints
If you think I haven't handled your information in line with the Privacy Act, please contact me first so I can put it right. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10. Changes
I may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always at this page, with the date it was last updated.
